Aftercare Instructions
Day 1-2 The eyebrow area needs to stay dry for the first 2 days (the day you receive the service and the following day). For those who have an excessive amount of fluid draining from the area immediately after the service, this applies to you, you will rinse the brows with antibacterial soap and distilled water. Do so gently, and rinse until the brows no longer feel "slimy". You're just rinsing away the lymphatic fluid, the same way you would a fresh tattoo. When finished rinsing, pat dry with clean cloth.
Day 3-14 Begin washing the brow area gently to remove bacteria and dead skin. Do so with antibacterial soap and use fingertips to gently cleanse the area. Do not oversaturate the brows with water. After cleansing, make sure the area is completely dry, then apply a pea sized amount of the healing ointment 2x daily, morning and night for 14 days. Do not oversaturate the brows with ointment. During this period the skin is going to naturally exfoliate and shed. Do not pick!
Day14-24 Discontinue using the ointment given to you at your appointment. You can apply make-up if needed and continue with your daily skin regiment -Excluding anti-aging or anti-acne products on your forehead.
What to Expect during healing
Initially the pigment on brows will appear bold and dark. Between day 4-14 you may experience itching, shedding/ flaking of the skin near the brow area. During this period, as the skin sheds, the pigmented strokes/shading appear very light or sometimes it seems that they have disappeared. Do Not Panic, THIS IS NORMAL. This is because there is a thick layer of protective skin creating a veil over the pigment. Day 14-24 the color is coming back but the eyebrows can be patchy. Once you go through a complete skin cycle (4-6weeks) the pigment will typically reappear but will be about 30-50% lighter than it was immediately after the procedure.
Important Reminders
• Do not touch or scratch your eyebrows- this can cause the brows to look patchy.
• Do not exercise, or sweat excessively for 14 days after treatment
• No brow make up, exfoliants, on or around your eyebrows for 14 days after treatment.
